The MacArthur Sewer Construction Project is replacing aging infrastructure originally built in 1960. This effort is key to improving pipeline reliability and enhancing operational and maintenance safety to support current and future capacity needs.
With abandonment work now complete, crews will soon begin the final phase of construction, which includes final paving, CCTV inspection, and roadway striping.

Project Description
The OC San MacArthur Sewer Improvements Project will construct two new pressurized sewer pipelines, or force mains, along 1/3-mile of right-of-way on MacArthur Blvd. in the City of Newport Beach. Additionally, this Project will abandon about 1/2-mile of pipe that is no longer needed and modify an existing access structure located at the intersection of Birch Street and MacArthur Blvd. Work will also occur at the OC San MacArthur Pump Station. Construction is slated to take approximately one year to complete.
